eventPOSTM is the point of sale solution that The Event Shop has designed with the growing needs of the event ticketing and entertainment industries firmly in mind. TES recognised that there existed a need to provide an affordable and flexible alternative to the old way of managing gate and door sales for events and venues with different systems and manual procedures. Our response: a robust and stable solution tailored to the evolving requirements of the event ticketing and entertainment industries.

The initial key driver in the development of the eventPOSTM solution was the need to provide reliable, centralised point of sale alternatives for gate/ door ticket sales. To streamline internal procedures, gate operations and to maximise ticket sales and customer service standards, ticketing service providers like The Event Shop need new and innovative technologies available to them at the venue or door.

The advantages associated with the eventPOSTM solution cannot be overstated. They include:

  • Security: Tickets that are lost or stolen can be cancelled in the system by authorised users at any location – venue, outlet, head office, to prohibit entry and eliminate fraud.
  • Reporting: Accurate, up-to-the minute reports can be run on demand to show total sales figures and enhance relationships with Promoters as well as improve event management capabilities.
  • Payment options: Real-time credit card verification through a secure payment gateway.

In line with the viewpoint that ticketing should be an asset, not a liability, The Event Shop also sought to take advantage of the previously untapped marketing opportunities that exist at the point of sale. The eventPOSTM system facilitates this through (optional) dual sided flat screens that accommodate customer-side advertising.

The Event Shop has brought together the hardware required in a point of sale system with the view that it should be fully capable of supporting its full range of eventAccess entry solutions. To that end, eventPOSTM will soon accomodate 1-D and 2-D barcodes, and RFID devices, and support The Event Shop’s fully wireless eventACCESS system as well.
